WCA Raises $41,000 for Scholarships
The Wallops Contractors Association raised $41,000 for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) and the Eastern Shore Community College (ESCC). Members of the association presented checks on Dec. 9, 2022, at Wallops Flight Facility.
Dr. Robert Mock accepted $20,500 on behalf of UMES, and Dr. James Shaeffer received the same funds for ESCC. Six member companies donated $5,000 each - ASRC Federal, SAIC, KBR, Peraton, Axient, Northrop Grumman, THTBC, Jacobs, and Qwaltec. These funds will help STEM students at each location with the cost of tuition, and assist the University and College in obtaining necessary technology components for their laboratories.
